Installing VLC media player in Redhat Enterprise Linux 7

VLC media player in Redhat Enterprise Linux edition can be installed in following ways:

  1. You can directly download from VLC’s official site and proceed.
  2. Or follow the following steps:

First install Epel and

repositories



# rpm -Uvh https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/7/x86_64/e/epel-release-7-8.noarch.rpm
# rpm -Uvh http://li.nux.ro/download/nux/dextop/el7/x86_64/nux-dextop-release-0-5.el7.nux.noarch.rpm

Check if vlc is available

# yum info vlc
